Rapping Into The Sunset At A Beach Is A Vibe Worth Selling

Often I think about how we can make our shows more appealing.

As I get older, it becomes harder to sell tickets to a dive bar venue. Even the regular concert hall feel is starting to become a tougher sell to parents in their late 30’s. Meanwhile, nice, outdoor festival locations attract people of all ages.

I see parties that are targeting an older demographic and they always leverage some degree of elegance. The ticket prices are higher, the outfits tend to be fancier but they are selling an experience. I know the fanciful isn’t for everyone, but it shows me how there’s more to music and events than a lot of people aim for.

The homie Frime and I have a song coming, so he invited me to his Meet & Greet event over at Goldenstar Oka.

While we couldn’t go into the water, it was the first time I performed staring into a beautiful body of water.

Before the event started we were staring into beauty

The venue was a marijuana store in Kanesatake.

The physical building is small, and you may not even notice it except for the big sign in front. There’s a ton of parking, which living in Montreal is a blessing. Then you walk over to the edge of the land and stare into the beautiful Baie des Indiens, adjacent to the Ottawa River.

There are a bunch of chairs facing the water, and picnic tables with umbrellas for some protection from the sun.

Being able to light up the thing you just purchased and stare into the peaceful waves of nature is a serenity cherished by many.

While I love the nightlife, watching a sunset go down during a show was a good time.

Frime’s event was a showcase of proper talent

Frime, and his wife Blankita Styles, have a bunch of music they made together and performed it, as the power couple they are.

What was nice about their performance is you can feel their love for each other, and the joy they have making music together. It was real nice. Along the way there were guests they brought up, such as Payso, Llynx & myself, each having done work on Frime’s beats.

Shoutout to the Montreal veterans making up Carte Blanche as they reminded us who they were.

The performances were nice but as I looked around I pictured 100 people out there.

There are a lot of people I know who will never pull up at a bar, that would drive 45 minutes out of the city to watch us perform with the beautiful scenery all around.

Add some dinner and create a whole experience

Thankfully Goldenstar Oka got us some deliciously greasy pizza, we were real hungry.

My understanding is they plan on opening their own restaurant on the property. That would solve the other main concern people may have. Finding food in nature is complicated.

I even picture something like fun edible food options, but like cheeseburgers and pizza. Give people a chance to want to get stoned and vibe for a few hours. Then you get us to come perform.

The money these folk will spend on product/food should make it profitable enough to really invest.

All I’m saying is the whole beautiful water concert experience is worth it.

Even if it’s only people with vehicles or homies with cars that can pull up.

I had fun and wanted to share some quick thoughts.

Live Long and Prosper Everyone
