M.O.T. & Merker Miyagi Had Their Moment Of Truth

I know it's a blurry pic, if someone want to be my photographer... holla

The Instagram story posted by M.O.T. let the people know that doors would open at 9 PM over at Piranha Bar, then the show would start at 10.

With my experience attending shows, I pulled up at 11 PM, and unfortunately missed the opening act. When I arrived the smoking area was full of people and La Vie was just finishing up his set. The room had a solid amount of people there as I did the rounds greeting everyone.

K Status was running the music and people were vibing.

It’s clear there was a lot of love in the room as M.O.T. and Merker each collected their supporters in a harmonious moment… of truth.

Kelloggzworld and M.O.T. did their thing

If you’ve never seen Kelloggzworld perform, you are missing out.

I’ve been following her since she was doing remixes on Tupac songs back in the day. She has consistently shown real growth developing a sound that is uniquely her, mixing Scotia and Montreal with her own style to create some real ass anthems. Also she always has the baddest women pulling up with her, y’all should book her.

M.O.T. decided to get real personal with us on this project.

His set started with a few snippets of older joints, because in truth, a lot of us want nice things out of our price range. That being said he really told us a lot in the 7 songs that came next for his new 4750 project (I think he performed them all). To The Moon is a real big boy hit, shoutout Merker for the production work.

I’ve seen La Vie before, he’s a vibe, I trust he killed it.

Merker was also on stage working in real time as part of the show.

It was short, sweet and to the point

Yesterday I realized how good I am to spend 20$ for 2 hours of entertainment.

Maybe being an Uber Driver has me seeing time differently (I made 87$ after I left the show), but it felt like a really good length for a concert. I think 3-4 hours max should be the total experience. There wasn’t a saturation of short sets, I saw 2 nice sets.

I often wonder why so many shows try to monopolize the night. Most great nights involve more than one location. Maybe it’s worth doing shorter shows and letting the people free, in a good mood.

M.O.T. made a comment saying the show would be done, and low key I was good to go not long after, it worked out perfectly.

Let it be said I acknowledge some events can go real long, but I think for most concerts, 3-4 hours is a good length before you lose the bulk of your audience.

They did their thing nicely last night.

Everyone who was there came and showed love

Perhaps it was Feezy on stage hyping up M.O.T. and encouraging the love showing, but there was a nice energy in the room.

The people there wanted to see the performers perform. Yeah there was some outside smoking, but because the performances were few, with breaks in between everyone stayed inside and showed love. It was a real moment.

I’m glad I was there to bear witness. Far too often I hear about the “Montreal Problem” and all the other hater shit. But mostly, not that many things are as well marketed and organized as this event was.

DMS events are well marketed as well, and end up a lot of fun, though I’ve skipped the last few chasing paper in these Uber streets.

My theory is that people's expectations were met, and thus, satisfaction and happy feelings were derived.

Be like Merker and M.O.T., that was a fun time.

Live Long and Prosper Everyone
