King K LV’s Diary Of A Dope Boy 3 Album Release Party Was A Win

I sincerely liked the Diary of a Dope Boy 2 album, King K LV brought forth an emotional landscape of flexing and storytelling.

Over the years I find King K to be a very supportive dude. At our first NARS event, he really saved the day pulling a crowd of people significant enough to make a vendor who had packed up, come back. As I venture out into the world, I see him at the events I wish more of my peers would be at.

It’s my pleasure to support King K in a meaningful way.

I saw his album release party was to start at 7 and I made my way over to the event early, but in my defense Uber brought me into the hood around 7:30.

I wasn’t trying to risk leaving and missing stuff.

The venue was at a multipurpose office building

On the fourth floor of this random building is a media studio.

King K and his people got all the permits to sell liquour and make money properly. The room was spacious, and conveniently across the hall from the bathrooms. Some of these buildings can have a 3 minute walk to find the toilet.

My favourite part of the night was King K busting out the old school librarian book stamp with the date. That was a nostalgia rush. Also nicer than permanent markers.

I know a Sharpie is convenient but scrubbing the x off my wrist later sucks.

It’s the little things folks.

There was also a lot of free street parking.

Venue is nice, I’d consider throwing an event there.

The entertainment was on point

DJ Rossy Ross and DJ AK were there holding us down making sure the vibes were proper.

Then King K and Shimeah Beyond made it abundantly clear all the spitters had to spit. Shoutout the whole Sunday Spitters movement. That being said I found myself in the corner with all the rappers waiting to rap.

I still don’t have writtens for this purpose. I went off the dome and lectured about starting a not for profit to get real money. Everyone else did their thing and it was a fun time.

I’m glad I coordinated my outfit.

King K performed  a few verses then brought up the Sunday Spitters crew to do their posse cut.

Finally we got to the album listening/performance part. Unfortunately by track 3 I had to hit the roads and make my Uber money.

I feel like King K would appreciate that the streets were calling me.

The entire vibe was love and peace… for the most part

Something like 15 cop cars showed up and a bunch of Eclipse officers busted into the place.

They clearly wanted to intimidate and wag some dicks. Inevitably they left, but it was wildly uncomfortable and unnecessary. The poor security guard, they took his name and number and he was kind of freaked out that the gang police had his info.

Once they left it got lit. Everyone who came gave love. The vibe was really positive and it was another cool moment of solidarity.

King K LV worked really hard to build this buzz. He curated a good event, taking the time and effort to do things nicely. Every cup had a sticker with a QR code on it, there was proper branding, the entertainment was valid.

It’s important to let the people know we can have amazing nights and good times so they can feel that FOMO.

Congrats to the whole LV team for making something special happen.

Live Long and Prosper Everyone

P.S. I still need to hear the album, I stayed longer than I planned though
