I finally got to feel what ocean saltwater burning your eyes is like.
After a lovely chill session our inebriated selves crashed around 4:30 in the morning. I consumed something like 3 litres of water during the night and was not so hungover when I woke up. Definitely a little hungover though. Just not that bad considering how much I drank. I was shooting them waters back like shots.
Turns out Uber Eats was effectively closed after midnight and outside of some chips, there was no food.
We learned our lesson and definitely ate today.
The detachment from normal life has kicked in and it’s lovely.
Driving through Puerto Rico is beautiful
We went for breakfast, where I had a chicken & waffle breakfast sandwich.
Then we were on road to the west side of the island where some beaches are at. The drive moved us through different city views until all of a sudden tit was lush greens and cliffs. It really kicked in how different Puerto Rico is from Montreal as we drove through it.
Due to the hilly nature of the terrain you will be driving and all of a sudden the highway feels suspended in the air. Clearly it’s a bridge, but going through it feels more exciting than just a regular highway. Or I’m probably romaticizing it because I’m in vacation mode.
There was a bunch of traffic and then we fought through it and got to the beach.
The Atlantic Ocean and I converged paths
I’ve never been in salt water before, except for the Dead Sea, but that is super salt water.
The sand beneath my toes made me think of lyrics about peace. I guess you can say I literally touched Earth. I got in the water and nearly fell in a hole.
I swam around for a bit, high key I was in it for the novelty.
Swimming in an ocean is another checklist item a poorer, younger me questioned if I’d do it.
Today was the day and I feel so proud to be here.
Unfortunately for us as we got there the hints of rain came. After about 45 mins to an hour, we got in the car and the fattest rain came. We missed it by mere minutes.
Oh I got to see a crab, that was cool.
Filet mignon and the strip club
We couldn’t find parking when we got back so we went out for dinner.
While the menu was fancy, each dish immaculately designed, we all got filet mignon. This was in the top 5 steak memories of my life. Doing fancy things in another country is definitely on the list of things I need to keep doing.
Flacko once rapped that he does shit like buys dinner on the low, and he dipped out and ended up treating us to dinner. It was very courteous of him. I’m mad grateful.
The night isn’t done. It’s about 9:30 and I’m smoking a blunt while writing this.
We’ll be off to the strip club soon and I imagine I’ll be too drunk to write later.
This whole trip is a blessing my soul will appreciate for a long time.
I’ll update y’all tomorrow.
Live Long and Prosper Everyone
